- Kant believes that freedom is the ability for somebody to freely think for themselves rather than being told what to think.
- Kant feels freedom is so important to the Enlightenment because it allows men to enlighten not only themselves, but other people by use of their free thinking.
- People become enlightened by freeing themselves from immaturity, laziness, and strict thinking. They should be in a free environment where nobody has any objection to what others are thinking.
- Politics and Enlightenment are alike because if people are enlightened about their politics, they will favor the current monarch more.
